Second Egypt–Sweden Business Forum

Yesterday, Eng. Karim Sami Saad, Chairman of Samcrete Group and Chairman of Industrial Development Group (IDG), participated in a high-level panel discussion during the Second Egypt–Sweden Business Forum, held at the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade and organized by the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones (GAFI).

The session explored ways to enhance investment and trade cooperation between Egypt and Sweden, with a particular focus on industrial development, innovation, and the opportunities available for Swedish industrial investors to invest in Egypt.

Eng. Karim Saad took part in the forum’s opening session alongside Mr. Hossam Heiba, Chairman of GAFI, a number of representatives from the Egyptian private sector, and Swedish government officials. The session was attended by H.E. Eng. Hassan El Khatib, Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade, H.E. Dr. Rania Al-Mashat, Minister of Planning, Economic Development, and International Cooperation, and H.E. Mr. Benjamin Dousa, Swedish Minister for International Development Cooperation.

During his participation, Eng. Karim Saad presented the work of IDG in the field of industrial zone development and the business development services the company offers to foreign investors. These efforts aim to create an enabling environment for international industrial companies to relocate part of their operations to Egypt, resulting in technology transfer, job creation, and the localization of various industries, thereby generating opportunities for the development of supporting industries.
